This week’s goal is to focus on taking care of our beautiful faces. Lets face it ladies, none of us want to look older than we are. So take charge of your skin now so you will not regret it later.

• Do not go to sleep with your make-up on. No Excuses! Wearing the same make-up on your face for 2 days in a row is not good for your skin. “Sleeping with cosmetics on can clog pores, cause zits and irritate the skin.” When makeup stays on too long, it also blocks “the natural exfoliative process of shedding skin,” which can leave your skin looking dull, says Dr. Robin Ashinoff, director of cosmetic dermatology at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Even if you do not wear make-up, (many mornings we are lucky to wash our hair, let alone wear make-up) it is still important to wash off the pollution and oil that you skin was exposed to during the day. Therefore, wash your face every night!

• Exfoliate your skin at least one to two times a week. Most of us forget to include exfoliation into our skin care routine. I read once that the reason that men’s faces look more youthful than ours is because shaving exfoliates their skin almost daily.

• Moisturize your face each morning and night! In order to keep our skin supple, especially in the winter, we need to moisturize!

• Wear sunscreen daily! Most moisturizers and even foundations these days have sunscreen in them already so you do not need to apply 2 different products.

• Treat your face to a facial mask at least once a week. You deserve it and your face deserves it.

Make sure that you pick products that are suited for your skin. So Mommies, put your best face forward! Take care of your skin starting today! Your kids will be happy to have a beautiful glowing mom!
